A Memorable Experience at Newport News Hotel
Chuck at the front desk went above and beyond, checking us in seamlessly. We loved enjoying breakfast with coffee available all day. The room had character but needed some maintenance, especially the shower. Just a heads up, clarify the AC controls to avoid confusion!

It was just an appropriate option for a brief hiatus in Newport News with good value for price. Chuck was a fantastic staff member who helped when I had an issue with my reservation. Check the cleanliness of your room before settling in.

Had a fantastic time with friends! We explored the War Memorial Stadium and enjoyed outlet shopping. Our room was spacious, featuring a flat-screen TV that kept us entertained. The breakfast staff did a great job maintaining supplies, and the convenient location made everything easy. Would definitely recommend it for group trips!
The only downside was the breakfast area being quite small and lacking comfortable seating for older guests.

Not the best experience
So, I had a pretty rough stay here. They checked someone else into my reserved room, which was crazy! Finally got into another room that smelled like smoke, and there was mold in the shower. Breakfast was a mess too, eating in a cramped conference room. Plus, a lot of vagrants outside asking for help. Never again.

The location of this hotel was a huge plus for visiting family. The large grassy area for walking my pet was perfect. Hot breakfast included plenty of options, like freshly made pancakes and scrambled eggs. Access to coffee 24/7 was a nice perk. My king room was clean and spacious, although some decor felt outdated. I noticed some maintenance issues in the bathroom. the faucet had a small leak. Front desk staff were friendly and quick to assist with any questions. However, the elevator could use more attention. it had a musty odor. I also wished for more seating in the room, especially since it accommodated multiple guests. Overall, a pleasant stay but with areas for improvement.

hotel overall, although some aspects could have been better. The room was clean and spacious, but the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy at night, affecting our sleep.

More senior-friendly seating in common areas.

Solo travelers beware
The staff was friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed , and the bed was actually comfortable for once. I mean, you know how it is-some places just don’t get that right. They had good WiFi , so I could get some work done without interruption. That's rare.
Not exactly a bargain, but still decent enough for what we needed.
